What we fit in Jarrow
- Hygienic finishes. Smooth, cleanable finishes chosen to meet your hygiene and audit standards.
- Pressure relief. Relief valves to balance pressure after the door closes or during defrost.
- Impact protection. Kick plates, buffers and bollards to keep trucks off leaves and frames.
- Inside release. Every door can be opened from inside without a key, even if locked from outside.
- Tight seals. The leaf pulls in against its gaskets on closing so cold air stays where it belongs.
Typical scopes of work
- Replacing an iced-up sliding freezer door with a new insulated door, heated frame and heated threshold.
- Protecting new cold store door frames with steel buffers and bollards on a busy forklift route.
- Renewing worn gaskets and the frame heater on a chiller door that no longer seals properly.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in Jarrow are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
Access, phasing and timing
Most installations in Jarrow can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Cold store and freezer doors in Jarrow: your questions
Do you supply cold store doors for food businesses in Tyne and Wear?
Yes. We supply and fit cold store doors with hygienic finishes for food producers, processors, distributors and commercial kitchens across Tyne and Wear, and we talk through your hygiene, cleaning and audit requirements at the survey before recommending a finish.
What safety release do cold store doors in Jarrow need?
Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.
Can our cold store door in Jarrow be made electric?
Often, yes, if the leaf and track are sound, or with a new electric sliding door. Powered cold store doors need safety edges and photocells and a drive suited to the temperature.
