What we fit in Hampshire
- Interlocks. Doors linked to each other, to levellers or to the alarm so they work in the right sequence.
- Safety devices. Safety edges, photocells and light curtains, force-tested to BS EN 12453.
- Inverter drives. Frequency inverters move busy doors faster while cutting wear on every cycle.
- Manual-to-electric. Conversions for sectional, roller and sliding doors in good order.
- Manual override. Chain or crank override so doors open during power cuts.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Fitting a centre-mounted motor to a roller shutter where a side wall leaves no room at the barrel end.
- Installing an airlock interlock between two high-speed doors so only one can be open at a time.
- Adding traffic lights and warning beacons to a yard door shared by lorries and pedestrians.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Hampshire?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Keeping your site running during the work
For busy sites in the South East the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Questions from businesses in Hampshire
Can you add interlocks or traffic lights to doors around the South East?
Yes. We fit airlock interlocks, door-to-leveller interlocks, traffic lights and warning beacons to new and existing doors across the South East, subject to compatibility with the control panels already fitted, and replace panels where they cannot accept the extra inputs.
Which activation would suit our Hampshire site?
It depends on who uses the door. Buttons suit staff, remotes suit drivers, pull cords and loops suit forklifts, and radar suits mixed traffic. We look at your traffic on survey and recommend a set-up.
How much does it cost to make a door electric in Hampshire?
Our guide price for a manual-to-electric conversion is £1,195 to £3,195 ex VAT, including motor, control panel, basic controls and commissioning. Extra controls and safety devices are priced separately, and your fixed price in Hampshire follows a free survey.
