Industrial door motor replacement in Heswall

The short version

Industrial door motor replacement for roller shutters, sectional doors and sliding doors in Heswall. We diagnose the fault, match a new drive to the door and re-commission it with safety devices tested.

Town: Heswall
Postcode district: CH60
Area: Merseyside
Guide price: £845 – £2,395

What our engineers check and fix

Obsolete motors. When a motor is discontinued, we fit a suitable alternative and adapt the mounting.
Matched drives. Each replacement drive is selected for the door it will move, not just the old part number.
Force testing. Closing forces measured to BS EN 12453 where the door closes under power.
Re-commissioning. Limits set, cycles tested and safety devices checked before handover.
Fault diagnosis. We check whether the motor, panel, supply or door is at fault before replacing anything.

What this work can involve

Replacing a motor with a slipping brake on a heavy shutter that creeps down from a part-open position.
Re-commissioning a sectional door once a new motor is fitted, including new limit settings and closing force tests.
Fitting a centre-mounted motor where an end-mounted replacement would clash with racking beside the door.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Heswall?

In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Planning the work around your site

Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.

Questions from businesses in Heswall

Is the motor really the problem with our door in Heswall?

Not always. Broken springs, damaged guides, failed panels, safety device faults and supply problems can all look like a failed motor. We diagnose first so you do not pay for a motor that will not fix the fault.

How much does an industrial door motor replacement cost in Heswall?

Our guide price for a replacement motor is £845 to £2,395 ex VAT, supplied and fitted, depending on door size, drive type and whether a new control panel is needed. A diagnostic repair visit in Heswall costs £145 to £195 ex VAT.

How soon can a door motor in Heswall be replaced?

Many common motors can be sourced quickly, and fitting usually takes a few hours once the drive is on site. Specialist or obsolete motors may need ordering; we tell you the lead time with the quote.
