The short version
Old springs, corroded guides and obsolete motors make some doors in Cumbria hard to keep running. A planned replacement avoids the next breakdown and leaves you with a door that suits how you work now.

Options that matter on site
- Safe strip-out. Tensioned springs and heavy parts are removed by trained engineers.
- Opening repairs. Any damage to the opening is put right so the new door fixes securely.
- Disposal. Old doors taken away for recycling or disposal.
- Commissioning. Safety devices tested, forces measured and instructions handed over.
- Ongoing servicing. We can service the new door from the start so its history begins on day one.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Changing a manual sliding door for a new electric sectional door running on low-headroom tracks.
- Stripping out a sectional door with broken springs and an obsolete motor, and fitting a new door with an inverter drive.
- Replacing vehicle-damaged roller shutters on a block of small industrial units between tenancies.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Cumbria?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Planning the work around your site
Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.

Your questions about industrial door replacement
Is the survey free for door replacement in Cumbria?
Yes. Surveys for replacements are free. We assess the old door and opening, measure for the new door, and quote a fixed price that lists the door, strip-out, disposal and any opening works separately.
Should we repair or replace our door in Cumbria?
If the door has several faults, recurring problems or parts that are no longer made, replacement is often better value. We price repair and replacement side by side so you can decide on cost and remaining life.

Strip-out and disposal has a guide price of £345 to £1,195 ex VAT per door, plus the new door, for example £2,395 to £5,495 for an electric single-skin roller shutter. We confirm the full fixed price in writing after a free survey in Cumbria.
