Industrial door replacement in Sunderland

In short

Is an old door at your Sunderland site costing more in repairs than it is worth? We price replacement alongside repair so you can compare, then handle the whole changeover if replacement makes sense.

Town: Sunderland
Postcode district: SR1
Area: Tyne and Wear
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Commissioning. Each new door is tested and handed over with the documents it needs.
Minimal downtime. Made-to-measure door ordered first so the swap takes a day.
Opening repairs. Any damage to the opening is put right so the new door fixes securely.
Free survey. We inspect the old door and measure the opening at no cost before quoting.
Ongoing servicing. We can service the new door from the start so its history begins on day one.

Jobs we can carry out

Stripping out a sectional door with broken springs and an obsolete motor, and fitting a new door with an inverter drive.
Phasing the replacement of several loading doors so only one bay is out of use at a time.
Replacing vehicle-damaged roller shutters on a block of small industrial units between tenancies.

Powered door rules that apply in Sunderland

Sunderland is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Keeping your site running during the work

If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take the old door away from our Sunderland site?

Yes. Strip-out includes removing the old door, springs, guides and drive from site for recycling or disposal. It is priced as a separate line in the quote so you can see exactly what removal costs.

Should we repair or replace our door in Sunderland?

If the door has several faults, recurring problems or parts that are no longer made, replacement is often better value. We price repair and replacement side by side so you can decide on cost and remaining life.

Is the survey free for door replacement in Sunderland?

Yes. Surveys for replacements are free. We assess the old door and opening, measure for the new door, and quote a fixed price that lists the door, strip-out, disposal and any opening works separately.
