What our engineers check and fix
- Flexible timing. Visits out of hours or at weekends where needed.
- Written reports. Clear reports for every door, showing what is urgent and what can be planned.
- Loading bays. Levellers, shelters, bumpers, lights and interlocks serviced on the same visit.
- Most makes. Doors and equipment from most manufacturers serviced.
- Full checklist. Every mechanical and electrical part checked, adjusted and lubricated as needed.
Jobs we can carry out
- Combining door servicing with fire shutter drop tests so a site needs only one planned visit.
- Producing door condition and defect reports for a landlord's agent ahead of a tenant handover.
- Setting up six-monthly servicing for a run of loading bay doors and dock levellers at a distribution centre.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Wick?
In Scotland, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
How the work is organised
Testing and repairs can mean closing an opening, so we agree timing and access with you before the visit, including early, late or weekend slots where the site needs them.

Planned maintenance contracts in Wick: your questions
Do you service doors from other installers in Wick?
Yes. We service most makes of industrial door and loading bay equipment, whoever fitted them. On the first visit we record each door's details and condition so future servicing and parts orders are straightforward.
How much is industrial door servicing in Wick?
Our guide price for planned maintenance is £85 to £175 ex VAT per door per visit, depending on door type and how many doors are on site. Fire shutter services are priced separately. The contract price for your Wick site is quoted in writing free of charge after we review your door details; the service visits themselves are chargeable.
How often should our doors in Wick be serviced?
At least once a year is industry practice, with six-monthly or quarterly visits for busy doors, harsh environments or where the manufacturer says so. We agree the interval for each door when setting up the contract.
