Options for door safety upgrades in North Shields

Fall protection. If a spring, cable or drive fails, the door is caught before it falls.
Safety edges. Edges on the closing rail detect contact and send the door back up.
Panel upgrades. Control panels with monitored safety inputs where older ones fall short.
Photocells. Beams across the opening that stop the door closing while broken.
Force testing. Closing forces measured against BS EN 12453 limits and recorded.

Jobs we can carry out

Adding anti-fall devices to heavy roller shutters identified in a workplace risk assessment review.
Replacing a damaged or bypassed safety edge on a yard roller shutter and re-testing its closing forces.
Fitting spring-break and cable-break devices to older sectional doors installed without any fall protection.

Powered door rules that apply in North Shields

North Shields is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

How the work is organised

Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.
