What to specify

Safety devices. Every powered door is fitted with the safety functions its risk assessment needs and force-tested before handover.
Vision panels. Add a row of vision panels or full-vision aluminium sections for daylight and a clear view of vehicles outside.
Electric drives. Motorised operation with the controls you need, from a simple push-button station to induction loops and radar.
Paperwork. You get the manufacturer's Declaration of Performance plus commissioning and test records for your files.
Insulated panels. Steel sandwich panels with a foam core keep heat in and noise out; thicker panels are available for temperature-controlled units.

What this work can involve

Supplying full-vision aluminium sections for a vehicle workshop door so technicians get daylight without opening the door.
Installing a sectional door on low-headroom tracks in a steel-framed unit where the roof haunch sits close above the opening.
Adding induction loops and an inverter drive so forklifts can open a busy internal sectional door without stopping.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Stockton-on-Tees are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Planning the work around your site

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.
