Options for sliding and folding industrial doors in Darwen

No headroom needed. Leaves move sideways, so nothing coils above or runs under the roof.
Robust build. Steel frames carry cladding to suit the building, from profiled steel to timber boarding.
Wide spans. Openings of almost any width split into as many leaves as needed.
Insulated options. Leaves can be filled with insulated panels and sealed along their edges to cut heat loss.
Folding leaves. Bi-folding leaves stack neatly where side wall space is limited.

What this work can involve

Fitting bi-folding doors to a maintenance workshop where overhead gantry cranes rule out a roller shutter or sectional door.
Adding a steel support beam and top-hung track so a sliding door leaves the floor flush for forklifts.
Replacing a damaged floor rail and guide wheels on a bottom-rolling door struck by a vehicle.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Darwen are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Planning the work around your site

Most installations in Darwen can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Frequently asked questions

Do you fit sliding doors on farm buildings around Lancashire?

Yes. We supply and fit steel sliding doors on agricultural buildings across Lancashire, including timber-clad leaves, bottom-rolling gear for lightweight portal frames and wicket doors so staff and livestock handlers can get in without opening the main leaves.

Will a sliding door fit our building in Darwen?

It needs wall space to the side for the leaves to slide past, or room for folded leaves to stack. We measure this on survey and choose between sliding, telescopic and folding layouts to suit what is there.

How much do sliding or folding industrial doors cost in Darwen?

Our guide price is £5,995 to £24,995 ex VAT, supplied and fitted, depending on size, number of leaves, infill and whether the doors are manual or electric. After a free survey in Darwen we confirm the fixed price in writing.
