What we fit in Sutton Coldfield

No headroom needed. With side-opening leaves, cranes, lights and services overhead stay clear.
Top-hung or bottom-rolling. We hang the door from above or run it on a floor rail depending on what the building can support.
Wicket doors. Pass doors built into a leaf so staff need not open the whole door.
Insulated options. Insulated panel infill and edge seals for heated buildings.
Folding leaves. Where there is little wall either side, folding leaves concertina into a compact stack.

Typical scopes of work

Adding a steel support beam and top-hung track so a sliding door leaves the floor flush for forklifts.
Fitting bi-folding doors to a maintenance workshop where overhead gantry cranes rule out a roller shutter or sectional door.
Replacing worn timber sliding doors on a storage building with steel-framed bottom-rolling doors and a wicket door.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Sutton Coldfield are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Keeping your site running during the work

Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.

Questions from businesses in Sutton Coldfield

Which is better for our Sutton Coldfield site, top-hung or bottom-rolling?

Top-hung keeps the floor flush but needs a strong structure overhead. Bottom-rolling suits lighter buildings but needs a clean, protected floor rail. We recommend one after checking both on survey.

How much do sliding or folding industrial doors cost in Sutton Coldfield?

Our guide price is £5,995 to £24,995 ex VAT, supplied and fitted, depending on size, number of leaves, infill and whether the doors are manual or electric. After a free survey in Sutton Coldfield we confirm the fixed price in writing.

Will a sliding door fit our building in Sutton Coldfield?

It needs wall space to the side for the leaves to slide past, or room for folded leaves to stack. We measure this on survey and choose between sliding, telescopic and folding layouts to suit what is there.
