Options for PVC strip curtains in Kilwinning
- Ribbed strips. Raised ribs take forklift and pallet abrasion, keeping strips clearer for longer.
- Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
- Traffic passes freely. Nothing to open or close: traffic simply pushes through and the strips drop back.
Typical scopes of work
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
- Adding a swing-away rail so a strip curtain can be moved clear for long or oversized loads.
Traffic route rules that apply in Kilwinning
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in Scotland the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.

Your questions about PVC strip curtains
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Kilwinning site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Ayrshire?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Ayrshire to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
How much is a PVC strip curtain in Kilwinning?
Our guide price is £175 to £895 ex VAT per doorway, supplied and fitted, depending on opening size, strip grade and rail type. We confirm the fixed price for your openings in Kilwinning in writing after a free survey.
