What we fit in Irvine
- Traffic passes freely. Nothing to open or close: traffic simply pushes through and the strips drop back.
- Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.
- Specialist grades. Anti-insect, anti-static and weld-screen strips for specific areas.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
- Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
What this work can involve
- Installing weld-screen strip curtains around welding bays in a fabrication workshop to protect nearby staff.
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
Keeping strip curtains safe in Scotland
The business running the site in Irvine must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
Planning the work around your site
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Questions from businesses in Irvine
How much is a PVC strip curtain in Irvine?
Our guide price is £175 to £895 ex VAT per doorway, supplied and fitted, depending on opening size, strip grade and rail type. We confirm the fixed price for your openings in Irvine in writing after a free survey.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Ayrshire?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Ayrshire to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Irvine site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
