What to specify
- Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
- Traffic passes freely. Nothing to open or close: traffic simply pushes through and the strips drop back.
- Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
Typical scopes of work
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
- Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
Traffic route rules that apply in Ellesmere Port
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
Access, phasing and timing
Most installations in Ellesmere Port can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Frequently asked questions
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Ellesmere Port site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
Which strip curtain grade suits our Ellesmere Port premises?
Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.
How quickly can strip curtains be fitted in Ellesmere Port?
Once strips are cut to length, fitting usually takes an hour or two per doorway, so several openings can often be completed in one visit with very little disruption to your operations.
