PVC strip curtains in Billericay

In short

Strip curtains are the simplest way to part-close a busy opening in Billericay (CM12). Hook-on strips make wear easy to deal with, ribbed strips cope with forklifts, and polar grades keep working in freezers.

Town: Billericay
Postcode district: CM12
Area: Essex
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Specialist grades. Anti-insect, anti-static and weld-screen strips for specific areas.
Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.
Polar grade. Freezer-grade strips stay soft and pliable instead of stiffening in the cold.

Typical scopes of work

Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
Adding a swing-away rail so a strip curtain can be moved clear for long or oversized loads.
Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.

Traffic route rules that apply in Billericay

Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.

Planning the work around your site

Most installations in Billericay can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Questions from businesses in Billericay

Which strip curtain grade suits our Billericay premises?

Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.

Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Essex?

Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Essex to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.

Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Billericay site?

A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
