PVC strip curtains in Cwmbran

In short

Strip curtains are the simplest way to part-close a busy opening in Cwmbran (NP44). Hook-on strips make wear easy to deal with, ribbed strips cope with forklifts, and polar grades keep working in freezers.

What we fit in Cwmbran

Hook-on strips. Replace a single damaged strip without taking the whole curtain down.
Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
No power. No motors, sensors or controls, so almost nothing to go wrong.
Draught control. A curtain across the opening holds back draughts and helps keep temperatures steady.

Jobs we can carry out

Installing weld-screen strip curtains around welding bays in a fabrication workshop to protect nearby staff.
Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.

Traffic route rules that apply in Cwmbran

Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in Wales the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.

Planning the work around your site

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

PVC strip curtains in Cwmbran: your questions

How often should strip curtains in Cwmbran be replaced?

It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.

Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Cwmbran site?

A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.

How quickly can strip curtains be fitted in Cwmbran?

Once strips are cut to length, fitting usually takes an hour or two per doorway, so several openings can often be completed in one visit with very little disruption to your operations.
