In short
Losing heat or chilled air through a door left open all day at your Berkhamsted site? A PVC strip curtain lets people and vehicles pass freely while cutting draughts, dust, noise and insects.

What we fit in Berkhamsted
- Traffic passes freely. Nothing to open or close: traffic simply pushes through and the strips drop back.
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
- Sliding rails. Sliding or swing-away rails move the curtain clear for oversized loads.
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
Jobs we can carry out
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
Traffic route rules that apply in Berkhamsted
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
Planning the work around your site
For busy sites in Hertfordshire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Questions from businesses in Berkhamsted
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Berkhamsted site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
How much is a PVC strip curtain in Berkhamsted?
Our guide price is £175 to £895 ex VAT per doorway, supplied and fitted, depending on opening size, strip grade and rail type. We confirm the fixed price for your openings in Berkhamsted in writing after a free survey.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Hertfordshire?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Hertfordshire to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
