What we fit in Rickmansworth
- Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
- Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
- Polar grade. Freezer-grade strips stay soft and pliable instead of stiffening in the cold.
- Sliding rails. Sliding or swing-away rails move the curtain clear for oversized loads.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
Jobs we can carry out
- Adding a swing-away rail so a strip curtain can be moved clear for long or oversized loads.
- Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
- Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
Keeping strip curtains safe in England
The business running the site in Rickmansworth must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
How the work is organised
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Questions from businesses in Rickmansworth
Which strip curtain grade suits our Rickmansworth premises?
Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.
How often should strip curtains in Rickmansworth be replaced?
It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Hertfordshire?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Hertfordshire to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
