Options that matter on site
- Specialist grades. Anti-insect, anti-static and weld-screen strips for specific areas.
- Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
Typical scopes of work
- Installing weld-screen strip curtains around welding bays in a fabrication workshop to protect nearby staff.
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
Keeping strip curtains safe in Scotland
The business running the site in Airdrie must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
How the work is organised

Frequently asked questions
Which strip curtain grade suits our Airdrie premises?
Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Airdrie site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
How quickly can strip curtains be fitted in Airdrie?
Once strips are cut to length, fitting usually takes an hour or two per doorway, so several openings can often be completed in one visit with very little disruption to your operations.
