What we fit in Portishead
- Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
- Hook-on strips. Replace a single damaged strip without taking the whole curtain down.
What this work can involve
- Installing weld-screen strip curtains around welding bays in a fabrication workshop to protect nearby staff.
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
Keeping strip curtains safe in England
The business running the site in Portishead must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
How the work is organised
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.
