PVC strip curtains in Guildford

In short

Fitting a strip curtain at premises in Guildford usually takes an hour or two per doorway. You get a free survey, a written fixed price, and strips cut to the exact drop for each opening.

Town: Guildford
Postcode district: GU1
Area: Surrey
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Specialist grades. Anti-insect, anti-static and weld-screen strips for specific areas.
Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
No power. No motors, sensors or controls, so almost nothing to go wrong.

What this work can involve

Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
Adding a swing-away rail so a strip curtain can be moved clear for long or oversized loads.
Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.

Traffic route rules that apply in Guildford

Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.

Access, phasing and timing

Sites in and around Guildford vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Questions from businesses in Guildford

Can you supply replacement strips for our existing curtains in Guildford?

Yes. We supply replacement strips cut to the right length for your existing rail, matched to the grade and width already fitted, and can fit them or leave them for your team.

Which strip curtain grade suits our Guildford premises?

Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.

How often should strip curtains in Guildford be replaced?

It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
