Typical scopes of work

Phasing the replacement of several loading doors so only one bay is out of use at a time.

Removing a rotted timber frame and fitting new steel jambs before installing a replacement roller shutter.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Golborne?

In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Keeping your site running during the work

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Your questions about industrial door replacement

Do you take the old door away from our Golborne site?

Yes. Strip-out includes removing the old door, springs, guides and drive from site for recycling or disposal. It is priced as a separate line in the quote so you can see exactly what removal costs.

How long will our opening in Golborne be out of use?

The new door is made to measure before the old one is removed, so a single door is usually stripped out and replaced in a day, with the opening secured again by the end of the visit.

How much does industrial door replacement cost in Golborne?

Strip-out and disposal has a guide price of £345 to £1,195 ex VAT per door, plus the new door, for example £2,395 to £5,495 for an electric single-skin roller shutter. We confirm the full fixed price in writing after a free survey in Golborne.
