Options for fire shutters in Denton
- Certified install. We follow the certified installation details exactly, because the rating depends on them.

- Alarm interface. We agree the cause-and-effect with your alarm contractor and prove the release at commissioning.
- Warning devices. Sounders and beacons to warn people before and during descent.
- Records. Commissioning and drop test records handed over for the fire safety file.
What this work can involve
- Building up a blockwork wall to the tested construction before fitting a new compartment fire shutter.
- Coordinating commissioning with the fire alarm contractor so the shutter release is proven during the same visit.
- Replacing an obsolete kitchen servery fire shutter with a new shutter released by the fire alarm panel.
Fire shutter law in England
A fire shutter only does its job if it closes when needed. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must keep fire safety equipment maintained in efficient working order, and keeping test records is the usual way to show it. Shutters must also stay as the manufacturer tested and certified them, so repairs should use the right parts. In Denton, the enforcing authority is the local fire and rescue authority.
How the work is organised
Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.
