Options that matter on site
- Multi-leaf sliding. Leaves stacking to one or both sides, or into door pockets, with no headroom needed.
- Load path. We decide with your structural engineer whether the slab or the structure carries the door's weight.
- Designed per opening. No off-the-shelf sizes: every large door is designed for its building and location.
- Vertical-lift fabric. Reinforced fabric curtains with wind bars that fold up beneath the lintel.
- Safety systems. Edge protection, photocells, warning lights, sounders and interlocks.
Jobs we can carry out
- Coordinating floor rail installation with the groundworks contractor before new large-span door leaves arrive on site.
- Fitting a vertical-lift fabric door to a tall vehicle maintenance shed where adjoining buildings take up the side space.
- Adding warning beacons, sounders and photocells to an older powered large-span door as part of a site risk assessment review.
Powered door rules that apply in Caernarfon
Caernarfon is in Wales, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
How the work is organised
If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.

Your questions about hangar and large-span doors
Can a large door at our Caernarfon site be operated without power?
Most powered large doors include a manual or emergency means of operation for power failures. How it works depends on the door type and size, and we explain it at handover and in the user instructions.
Do you work on hangar door projects with our engineer in Caernarfon?
Yes. We coordinate loads, fixings, floor rails and steelwork with your structural engineer and main contractor so the door and the building are designed together, and we agree a programme before manufacture.
How long would a large-span door installation take in Caernarfon?
After design and manufacture, installation typically takes from several days to a few weeks depending on the number of leaves and any structural work. The full programme is set out with the quote.
