Examples of work we can quote for

- Adding anti-fall devices to heavy roller shutters identified in a workplace risk assessment review.
- Replacing a damaged or bypassed safety edge on a yard roller shutter and re-testing its closing forces.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Peterhead?
In Scotland, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Access, phasing and timing
Most installations in Peterhead can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Your questions about door safety upgrades
Can you force-test our doors in Peterhead?
Yes. We measure closing forces with a calibrated tester at the points set out in BS EN 12453, record the results and recommend any adjustments or devices needed. Force testing can be part of a service visit.
Our door at our Peterhead site has a bypassed safety edge. What should we do?
Stop using the door under power until the safety device is working, or use it on hold-to-run only if the risk assessment allows. We can replace the edge or fit alternative detection and re-test the door.
How long does a safety upgrade take in Peterhead?
Most upgrades take a few hours per door, including re-testing. If a new control panel is needed, it may take longer. We plan work to keep doors out of use for as short a time as possible.
