Quick answer
Strip curtains are the simplest way to part-close a busy opening in Ampthill (MK45). Hook-on strips make wear easy to deal with, ribbed strips cope with forklifts, and polar grades keep working in freezers.

Options that matter on site
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
- Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- Ribbed strips. Raised ribs take forklift and pallet abrasion, keeping strips clearer for longer.
Jobs we can carry out
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
Traffic route rules that apply in Ampthill
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.

Questions from businesses in Ampthill
How much is a PVC strip curtain in Ampthill?
Our guide price is £175 to £895 ex VAT per doorway, supplied and fitted, depending on opening size, strip grade and rail type. We confirm the fixed price for your openings in Ampthill in writing after a free survey.
How quickly can strip curtains be fitted in Ampthill?
Once strips are cut to length, fitting usually takes an hour or two per doorway, so several openings can often be completed in one visit with very little disruption to your operations.
Which strip curtain grade suits our Ampthill premises?
Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.
