Options for PVC strip curtains in Newbury
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
- Specialist grades. Anti-insect, anti-static and weld-screen strips for specific areas.
- Hook-on strips. Replace a single damaged strip without taking the whole curtain down.
- Traffic passes freely. Nothing to open or close: traffic simply pushes through and the strips drop back.
What this work can involve
- Installing weld-screen strip curtains around welding bays in a fabrication workshop to protect nearby staff.
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
- Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
Traffic route rules that apply in Newbury
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
How the work is organised
For busy sites in Berkshire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

PVC strip curtains in Newbury: your questions
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Newbury site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Berkshire?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Berkshire to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
How much is a PVC strip curtain in Newbury?
Our guide price is £175 to £895 ex VAT per doorway, supplied and fitted, depending on opening size, strip grade and rail type. We confirm the fixed price for your openings in Newbury in writing after a free survey.
