At a glance
Strip curtains are the simplest way to part-close a busy opening in Dumfries (DG1). Hook-on strips make wear easy to deal with, ribbed strips cope with forklifts, and polar grades keep working in freezers.

Options for PVC strip curtains in Dumfries
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
- Draught control. A curtain across the opening holds back draughts and helps keep temperatures steady.
- Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
- No power. No motors, sensors or controls, so almost nothing to go wrong.
- Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.
Typical scopes of work
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
- Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
Keeping strip curtains safe in Scotland
The business running the site in Dumfries must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
Access, phasing and timing
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.
