PVC strip curtains in Bathgate

In short

Strip curtains are the simplest way to part-close a busy opening in Bathgate (EH48). Hook-on strips make wear easy to deal with, ribbed strips cope with forklifts, and polar grades keep working in freezers.

Options that matter on site

Ribbed strips. Raised ribs take forklift and pallet abrasion, keeping strips clearer for longer.
Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
Polar grade. Freezer-grade strips stay soft and pliable instead of stiffening in the cold.
Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.

Examples of work we can quote for

Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
Adding a swing-away rail so a strip curtain can be moved clear for long or oversized loads.

Traffic route rules that apply in Bathgate

Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in Scotland the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.

Keeping your site running during the work

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Questions from businesses in Bathgate

How much is a PVC strip curtain in Bathgate?

Our guide price is £175 to £895 ex VAT per doorway, supplied and fitted, depending on opening size, strip grade and rail type. We confirm the fixed price for your openings in Bathgate in writing after a free survey.

Which strip curtain grade suits our Bathgate premises?

Standard clear PVC suits most ambient doorways. Polar grade is needed for chillers and freezers, ribbed strips for heavy forklift routes, and tinted grades for insect control or welding areas. We recommend a grade after seeing the opening.

Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Bathgate site?

A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
