Options that matter on site
- No power. No motors, sensors or controls, so almost nothing to go wrong.
- Polar grade. Freezer-grade strips stay soft and pliable instead of stiffening in the cold.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
- Ribbed strips. Raised ribs take forklift and pallet abrasion, keeping strips clearer for longer.
Typical scopes of work
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
- Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
Traffic route rules that apply in Market Harborough
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
Planning the work around your site
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

PVC strip curtains in Market Harborough: your questions
How often should strip curtains in Market Harborough be replaced?
It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Leicestershire?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Leicestershire to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Market Harborough site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
