What to specify
- No power. No motors, sensors or controls, so almost nothing to go wrong.
- Polar grade. Freezer-grade strips stay soft and pliable instead of stiffening in the cold.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- Sliding rails. Sliding or swing-away rails move the curtain clear for oversized loads.
- Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.
What this work can involve
- Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
- Installing weld-screen strip curtains around welding bays in a fabrication workshop to protect nearby staff.
Traffic route rules that apply in Harrogate
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
How the work is organised
Most installations in Harrogate can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.
