Options that matter on site
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
- Hook-on strips. Worn strips lift off and new ones hook on in seconds.
- No power. No motors, sensors or controls, so almost nothing to go wrong.
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
Typical scopes of work
- Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
Traffic route rules that apply in Newmarket
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
Access, phasing and timing
Most installations in Newmarket can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Your questions about PVC strip curtains
How much is a PVC strip curtain in Newmarket?
Our guide price is £175 to £895 ex VAT per doorway, supplied and fitted, depending on opening size, strip grade and rail type. We confirm the fixed price for your openings in Newmarket in writing after a free survey.
How quickly can strip curtains be fitted in Newmarket?
Once strips are cut to length, fitting usually takes an hour or two per doorway, so several openings can often be completed in one visit with very little disruption to your operations.
How often should strip curtains in Newmarket be replaced?
It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
