In short
Strip curtains are the simplest way to part-close a busy opening in Whitehaven (CA28). Hook-on strips make wear easy to deal with, ribbed strips cope with forklifts, and polar grades keep working in freezers.

What to specify
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
- Ribbed strips. Raised ribs take forklift and pallet abrasion, keeping strips clearer for longer.
- Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
What this work can involve
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
- Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
- Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
Keeping strip curtains safe in England
The business running the site in Whitehaven must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
Keeping your site running during the work
If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.
