Quick answer
Losing heat or chilled air through a door left open all day at your Carlisle site? A PVC strip curtain lets people and vehicles pass freely while cutting draughts, dust, noise and insects.

- Carlisle
- Postcode district
- CA1
- Area
- Cumbria
- Survey
- Free for new installations
What to specify
- Polar grade. Freezer-grade strips stay soft and pliable instead of stiffening in the cold.
- Hook-on strips. Replace a single damaged strip without taking the whole curtain down.
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- Traffic passes freely. Nothing to open or close: traffic simply pushes through and the strips drop back.
What this work can involve
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
- Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
Keeping strip curtains safe in England
The business running the site in Carlisle must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
Planning the work around your site
For busy sites in Cumbria the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Questions from businesses in Carlisle
How much is a PVC strip curtain in Carlisle?

It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
