Options that matter on site
- Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
- Sliding rails. Sliding or swing-away rails move the curtain clear for oversized loads.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- Polar grade. Freezer-grade strips stay soft and pliable instead of stiffening in the cold.
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
- Adding a swing-away rail so a strip curtain can be moved clear for long or oversized loads.
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
Traffic route rules that apply in Tunbridge Wells
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
How the work is organised
Most installations in Tunbridge Wells can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.
