Options that matter on site

Warning devices. Lights and sounders make sure people know when a door is about to move.
Light curtains. Full-height multi-beam detection across the whole opening.
Panel upgrades. Where the old panel cannot monitor devices, we replace it with one that can.
Records. Written results and updated risk assessment for your files.
Fall protection. If a spring, cable or drive fails, the door is caught before it falls.

Examples of work we can quote for

Replacing a damaged or bypassed safety edge on a yard roller shutter and re-testing its closing forces.
Carrying out safety upgrades on the powered doors of a newly leased unit before a tenant moves in.
Fitting a full-height light curtain to an automatic sectional door on a busy pedestrian route.

Powered door rules that apply in Bedworth

Bedworth is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Keeping your site running during the work

Door safety upgrades in Bedworth: your questions

How much does a door safety upgrade cost in Bedworth?

Our guide price is £445 to £1,795 ex VAT per door for safety edges, photocells or a light curtain, depending on door size and devices. A new control panel or fall protection adds to it. We confirm the fixed price after a survey and force test in Bedworth.

Will a safety upgrade at our Bedworth premises include paperwork?

Yes. We record the devices fitted, the force test results and any changes to the control panel, and update the door's risk assessment, giving you written evidence that the door was checked and upgraded.

How long does a safety upgrade take in Bedworth?

Most upgrades take a few hours per door, including re-testing. If a new control panel is needed, it may take longer. We plan work to keep doors out of use for as short a time as possible.
